For the last 6 years, Estrella High School has held an event to get the students and staff in the holiday spirit. The Share Joys event is a way to collect donations to be able to help families within the school as well as out in the community. This year, the C2 club is hosting the event which will be held on Thursday, December 15. To participate, students are asked to donate $5 to the C2 club. All monies collected for the Share Joys event willl be used to purchase items that will help families have a happy holiday season. In return for the donations, students will be treated to a day of fun. Students can choose to participate in arts and crafts, contests, watch movies, play games, and more. In conjunction with the Share Joys event, the C2 club is also hosting a Door Decorating Contest for each classroom. The winning class will receive a prize. Participation in the Share Joys event is not mandatory. The event is a "thank you" to students who donate. Those who do not wish to participate will continue a regular day of school in a classroom. Please keep in mind that it is still a required school day. Students who are absent will be required to flex that absence on Friday. All students were given a handout detailing times of events. All donations need to be turned in by Tuesday, December 13. Any questions or concerns should be brought to Mrs. Manning in room 107 or Mrs. Osterberg in room 108. Attention 2011-2012 graduates! Cap and gown photos will be taken on Friday December 9. The photographer will only be taking photos of students who would like to purchase a picture package. Cap and gowns will be provided for the photo taking, so the only thing you will need to bring is a smile! For any questions or concerns about graduate photos, please contact Angela Garcia at 623-932-6562. Last Friday was Mrs. Bierling's last day with Estrella High School. Mrs. Christina Bierling has been a steady fixture in the office for over 5 years. The students knew her as "the attendance and lunch lady" because of her daily visits into the classroom and her warm smile in the lunch room as she checked students through the line. Teachers know Mrs. Bierling as a soft spoken, hard working, kind hearted person. While we all know that we can talk to Mrs. Bierling any time although she is no longer at Estrella High School, we will sorely miss having her here. The faculty and staff at EHS wish Mrs. Bierling all the best at her new school and know that she will be an asset to Crestview College Prepatory High School. |
