Schedule
Estrella High School uses an innovative block scheduling program that breaks each school year into four nine-week blocks. During each block, students take and complete three or more classes, based on the following schedule:
Morning Session:
1st hour: 8:00am - 9:50am
2nd hour: 9:50am - 11:40am
3rd hour: 12:00pm - 1:50pm
Optional 4th hour: 1:50pm - 3:40pm
Students who choose an extra class must find their own transportation home.
Afternoon Session:
4th hour: 1:50pm - 3:40pm
5th hour: 3:40pm - 5:30pm
6th hour: 5:50pm - 7:40pm
Optional 3rd hour: 12:00pm - 1:50pm
Students who choose an extra class must find their own transportation to the school.
Each class meets four days a week for 1 hour and 50 minutes, which enables students to complete one semester in each course per nine-week block. Fridays are flexible days which give students the opportunity for extra school activities and individual tutoring, as teachers are available during regular class times. This block schedule accelerates the graduation process and allows students to earn more credits in a shorter amount of time. It also gives students who have fallen behind on academic credits the opportunity to take additional courses in order to catch up.
