Flex Fridays
Friday Flex Policy Fridays are given to students to make up time and work missed due to absences, although students are encouraged to come on Fridays to get extra help from teachers or catch up on work.
Estrella High School has a Zero-Absence Policy. This means that although students are allowed to miss up to four days without losing credit, they are still required to make up, or flex, any time missed unless otherwise approved by an administrator. Any absences that are not made up by the end of the block results in a failing grade.
The Friday schedule mirrors a regular day schedule. Students must flex in the order of a regular day.
Students who are tardy on Fridays may not be allowed to flex until the next full period. For example, a student who arrives at 8:15 a.m. will not be allowed to flex during first period. That student must wait until second period to flex his/her second period class.
Friday Expectations Students are expected to abide by the rules and policies of a normal school day. These include:
Students who wish to use school transportation on Friday must sign up for pickup on the Wednesday before, in second or fifth periods. The bus pickup schedule will then be posted on Thursday on the rear office doors. It is the student's responsibility to show up at the location on time.
Students who miss the bus at the scheduled time of pickup must find their own transportation to school.

AIMS Workshops
In an effort to provide students with help in meeting or exceeding the AIMS, Estrella High School offers workshops every Friday throughout the year.
Students may receive flex credit for one class for every workshop attended. To receive flex credit, students are required to sign in with their first or second period teacher (or in the case of afternoon students, their fourth or fifth period teacher), prior to attending the workshop. Students will also sign in at the workshop. Students who fail to sign in to both the teacher and the workshop will not receive flex credit.
