Important changes will be occuring with scheduling for Block 4!
Today, students were given a letter to take home detailing the changes happening. In addition, this letter will also be mailed out with each report card on Friday, March 15. Estrella High School is switching the time frame for classes offered Block 4. There will still be a full comprehensive morning and afternoon schedule (students attending a minimum of three classes) with transportation being provided at both time frames. The schedule for morning classes will still begin at 8:00am and end at 1:45pm for those students requiring trasportation to and from school. The afternoon classes will begin as 12:00pm and end at 5:25pm for those students requiring trasportation to and from school. We will be providing breakfast and lunch to the morning students and lunch to the afternoon students. There will no longer be a dinner service as school ends at 5:25pm. In addition to this, the school office hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7:00pm to 5:45pm. The Friday schedule will remain the same with the office open from 7:30am to 4:00pm Estrella High School appreciates your understanding and cooperation with regards to this issue. This schedule will be effective as of March 25, 2013, the first day of Block 4. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Main Office at 623-932-6562. As we round out the last week of Block 3, Estrella High School wants to remind students that final exams will be taking place either Wednesday, March 13 or Thursday, March 14. There is no flex this Friday. Students who are absent this week may lose credit in any class that the absence(s) occurred.
This Thursday is a regular full schedule. If there are any questions or concerns regarding this week, please contact the main office. Love to Read?
Join the Estrella High Book Club which meets every Friday for Block 4 during first hour. What is Book Club? It's where students get to read great books that are relevant to teenagers today, then meet together to discuss the issues raised with other peers. Students may sign up to earn .25 credit, or just for fun! The first book will be Party, written by Tom Leveen. The book is told from the points of view of 11 teenagers in Santa Barbara. As each teen tells his or her unique story, the 11 characters come together in ways they never imagined. Join in on the drama surrounding the biggest party of the year: a teen's first night of school-free freedom! On Friday March 29, Mrs. Manning will be taking students on a bookstore field trip and Book Club kick-off. Ask for a permission slip today so you too can join! The Book Club will also have a place on this website under Clubs so that members can not only see what books will be scheduled, but also what books have already been read. Don't miss out on the fun! |
