The teachers and staff were excited to see students pouring in after a week long of fall break, but the excitement was short lived as students were sent home after about half an hour of class due to an issue that caused Estrella High School to be without water.
Tuesday marked the second beginning of block 2 and due to the early release on Monday, all students are required to attend school on Friday to make up the missed time. A letter detailing the schedule for Friday was given to each student to take home.
Students who do not attend school on Friday will need to make up the following Friday, which will be a regular flex day on a regular daily schedule.
On October 6, Estrella High School held a fundraiser event at Fresh and Easy. Several teachers and students helped by assisting customers in bagging groceries, offering cheery greetings at the door, and asking customers to donate receipts.
With everyone's help, almost $300 was raised in just four hours! The receipt collecting continues until the end of December so tell everyone to shop at Fresh and Easy and donate their receipts to Estrella High School. Every bit counts!
On Thursday, October 6, Estrella High School will be at the Fresh & Easy at Avondale Blvd and Van Buren between 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Support our school by donating receipts in the amount of $20 and up. For every receipt we collect, Fresh & Easy will give Estrella High School $1. Every little bit counts!
Ask friends and neighbors to shop at Fresh & Easy and give their receipts to us too!
If you cannot make it to the location on Thursday, you can still turn in receipts to the school by dropping them off at the front office from now until December 31.
Any student wanting to help at the event should talk to Ms. Alston. We need your support!
This week is finals week and we all know what that means. Time to make sure all of your projects are finished up, study your notes, and prepare for exams in every class.
Don't forget that you MUST be present every day this week to receive credit. There will not be flex this Friday.
Thursday, October 6, will be a short day so refer to the short day schedule found here and in the student handbook. Lunch will not be served on Thursday in order to keep the schedule shortened.
If there are any questions about Thursday, please call the front office at 623-932-6562.
