On Wednesday, November 28, Estrella High School students and staff took time out of their days to donate blood in an effort to help save lives. This year, there were so many volunteers that some students could not be accommodated simply because there was not enough time.
Estrella high School is so proud of the students and staff who donated and helped to exceed the goal.
For the last 6 years, Estrella High School has held an event to get the students and staff in the holiday spirit. The Share Joys event is a way to collect donations to be able to help families within the school as well as out in the community. This year, the C2 club is hosting the event which will be held on Thursday, December 15.
To participate, students are asked to donate $5 to the C2 club. All monies collected for the Share Joys event willl be used to purchase items that will help families have a happy holiday season. In return for the donations, students will be treated to a day of fun. Students can choose to participate in arts and crafts, contests, watch movies, play games, and more.
In conjunction with the Share Joys event, the C2 club is also hosting a Door Decorating Contest for each classroom. The winning class will receive a prize.
Participation in the Share Joys event is not mandatory. The event is a "thank you" to students who donate. Those who do not wish to participate will continue a regular day of school in a classroom. Please keep in mind that it is still a required school day. Students who are absent will be required to flex that absence on Friday.
All students were given a handout detailing times of events. All donations need to be turned in by Tuesday, December 13. Any questions or concerns should be brought to Mrs. Manning in room 107 or Mrs. Osterberg in room 108.
