Parent Involvement

The faculty, staff, and administrators at Estrella High School recognize the necessity and value of parent involvement to enable our school to provide opportunities for students served to acquire the knowledge and skills contained in the State's challenging content and student performance standards that all children are expected to meet. In order to assure collaborative partnerships between parents and schools, Estrella is committed to pursuing the following goals in ways that recognize and respect the diversity and differing needs of all families.
The overall goals of Estrella High School's Title I program is to promote partnerships that will increase parental involvement and participation in promoting the social, emotional, and academic growth of children.
- Involving parents as partners in the development and implementation of Title I instructional programs, school-wide planning, and School-Parent Compact
- Establishing effective two-way communication with all parents
- Developing strategies and programs which enable parents to participate actively in their child's education
- Providing support and coordination for school staff and parents to implement and sustain appropriate parent involvement at all grade levels
- Inviting parents to attend the annual Title I meeting providing them with various meeting times and equal access to the information
- Involving parents as partners in the evaluation and review of the annual plan and parent involvement policy
- Utilizing community resources to enrich the educational environment and promote family and student success
- Supporting parents in their roles as the child's first and most important teacher
