About Testing @ EHSState and district tests are used to monitor student academic achievement as well as to highlight any areas of need. There are several tests that are considered mandatory for our students.
They include the following: Quest Benchmark Testing -the Quest Edulastic Benchmark district test is a computer-based benchmark assessment. The test is proctored three times during the school year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and used by teachers as a benchmark to assess individual and class-wide strengths, weaknesses, and growth. AzM2 Grade Level ELA and Math Testing-is a state required assessment that must be completed by students in grade10th grade on campus. The test for school year 2020-2021 will be held between April 12th, 13th and15th. All testing information including; testing dates, times and location will be communicated to families during block 3 and 4. AzSCI Testing- is a state required assessment in Science that must be completed by 11th students on campus. The testing for school year 2020-2021 will be held on April 20th. As a field test, scores will not be provided to schools or families. ACT Testing- The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The purpose of the ACT test is to measure a high school student's readiness for college. The ACT must be completed by 11th grade students on campus. The testing for school year 2020-2021 will be held on April 6th on campus. ACCUPLACER Testing- The ACCUPLACER is a series of tests (mathematics, reading, and writing) that evaluate a student's readiness for college. The ACCUPLACER is not being offered during the 2020-2021 schoolyear. Civics Testing- In 2015, the Arizona Legislature passed the American Civics Act (HB 2064). This bill requires students to pass a civics test based on US Immigration and Naturalization civics questions. Students will be required to score 60% or higher in order to graduate from high school or obtain a high school equivalency certificate. (Click here for a list of 100 questions on the Natrualization Test. ) AZELLA Testing- Students identified as English Learners may be required to participate in the AZELLA placement test and/or reassessment test. The English Learner team will communicate specific tests, dates, and times to qualifying students (Click here for more information) |
Do I have to participate in state testing?Yes. As a public charter school, EHS is required by state law to administer annual testing. Any student attending a public charter school is required to participate in this mandated state testing.
